Monday Musings: Typewriter Art

Today I was at my day job in the museum and it crossed my mind how much we have changed the way we express the written word. I graduated from Art School in 2005 and until dissertation time in fourth year it was still considered acceptable to hand write essays! My daughter already knows how to work a smart phone and by the time she's at secondary school a pen will probably be a museum artefact!

I came across some amazing pieces of typewriter art created by Keira Rathbone. I was drawn to this gramophone piece but there's lots more on her website to drool over...

Monday Musings... Grammar Grumbles

This mug made me laugh. It's a great gift for the person in your life with grammar issues. There's lots more mugs and other great gifts available from the Literary Gift Company, beats panic buying from the Highstreet when it's your loved one's birthday!

Paperfolk loves... Kanae Entani

Kanae Entani is originally from Japan but moved to the UK to study Textile Design. With a CV that includes working with amazing designers such as Donna Wilson and Lizzie Finn along with embroidery projects for Nike, it's no wonder that her work is beautifully creative with a distinctive style. On her website she states that a dream would be to work on a film with Michel Gondry- a girl after my own heart!

Some examples of Kanae's work...
